A group of enthusiastic Year 12 students recently had the exciting opportunity to visit St. John’s College, Oxford as part of the on-going support that our Sixth Form offers in preparing students for life and education beyond St. Paul’s.
The visit offered a unique glimpse into life at one of the world’s most prestigious universities and left students inspired and better informed about their future higher education choices.
The day began with a warm welcome from the college’s access team, who provided an overview of Oxford’s collegiate system and the application process. Students later took part in an engaging workshop to enhance their interview skills in their chosen subject area.
One of the highlights of the visit was a guided tour of the college’s historic grounds, including the impressive dining hall, beautiful quadrangles, and the renowned library. Current undergraduate students also shared their personal experiences of studying at Oxford, giving Year 12s valuable insights into both the academic and social aspects of university life.
Our students asked thoughtful questions to existing 1st & 2nd year students about everything from personal statements to course options. Students left the visit feeling more confident and motivated about aiming high in their university applications.
This inspiring day at St. John’s College was a memorable step forward for our Year 12 students as they begin planning their academic futures.
