St Paul’s Catholic College wants all students to achieve their God-given potential and to put their individual talents to good use, nurturing them in a caring and stimulating learning environment. St Paul’s Catholic College wants to offer a wide range of opportunities for students to have the best possible chance of success and excel both inside and outside the classroom. Enrichment activities available include sports clubs and drama productions, while initiatives such as the Duke of Edinburgh Award allow for pupils to push their boundaries and learn new skills. Proud of all that our students achieve
In the last three years our contextual value added has placed us in the top 10% of schools nationally. Our 2021 results were:
- GCSE: 85% 5+ Grades 9-4 inc Eng & Maths, 66% 5+ Grades 9-5, 40% Grades 9 to 7.
- Year on year we are one of the top performing comprehensive schools nationally, within the top 5%.
- A Level: 72% A*-B, 91% A*-C and 100% pass rate. This achieved an ALPS rating of 'outstanding'.
These results are built on a belief that we have a duty to ensure that every student achieves their potential with us.

Superb modern facilities provide the ideal learning environment and a great place to work.
The College moved to its current modern and inspiring environment on the outskirts of Burgess Hill in 2004. St Paul's has strong travel links from Brighton and London and is situated in the heart of the beautiful Mid-Sussex region with countryside, sea and links to city-living.
Transforming teaching
We strive for innovation in our everyday teaching practice and our unique e-learning scheme helps us to achieve this.
Moving to a brand new site in Burgess Hill gave us the unique opportunity to develop an innovative 21st century learning environment. We have worked hard to develop the highest standards of learning and teaching and have built a national reputation for using technology to enhance learning.
Students have access to learning any time, anywhere through a scheme which provides a digital mobile device (like a laptop or an iPad) for every student to support their learning at home and school.
As you can imagine this transforms the way we teach and the way students learn. Our approach to learning and teaching is based on 'accelerated learning' to ensure students develop as highly adaptable, independent learners prepared for the fast-paced world.
E-Learning
Collaboration is key
Collaborating with other schools and professionals not only raises standards at St Paul's but helps to raise the standards of education for all involved.
St Paul's Catholic College is the lead school for the Inspire Teaching School Alliance (TSA); a network of schools committed to professional learning, leadership and raising achievement.
This leads us to working extensively on outreach work with other schools both locally, nationally and now internationally, spreading as far as Shanghai, Australia and Kazakhstan.
This work provides exceptional opportunities for professional and personal development through collaboration with others at St Paul's and in our partner schools.
Inspire TSAGet involved
Our rich and vibrant community has so much to offer those who are keen to get involved in life at St Paul's.
Outside the classroom, there are opportunities to be involved in enrichment, drama, sport, music, exchanges, away days, Duke of Edinburgh, retreats and trips.
There are opportunities for prayer and reflection as well as many examples of living an active faith through service, pilgrimage and fundraising.
