Last week students at St Paul’s celebrated impressive A level results with 60% achieving A*-B and 88% achieving A*-C. Now it is was the turn of those who have taken their GCSEs this summer.

Overall 81% of students achieved a grade 4 or above and 56% grade 5 or above in English and Maths. 34% of all grades were graded 9-7 (A*/A). This is an excellent result with the introduction of the new GCSE curriculum this year.

Some exceptional results included the following students with all their grades between 9 and 7 which are the equivalent of A* and A grades.

  • Lucy Amerio
  • Natalia Atherley
  • Isabelle Dow
  • Adam Dray
  • Lydia Fisher
  • Eliza Foster
  • Niamh Gallagher
  • Mareena Joseph
  • Ciara Kilfoy
  • Marton Kovacs
  • Rachel Melling
  • Madeleine Peers
  • Ben Shelley
  • Alfred Stokes-Myers
  • Ethan Sumner

The four top performers were Natalia Atherley, Isabelle Dow and Mareena Joseph who all got six grade 9s and three grade 8s and Adam Dray who got seven grade 9s, one grade 8 and one grade 7. With only the top 3% of all students being awarded grade 9s this is a fantastic achievement which we are all very proud of.

Three students who made exceptional progress were Simon Crossman, Boden Duffy and Louis Myers. This was down to their hard work and dedication which really paid off.

We are all really thrilled to share the results with the students and their families today. It is down to their dedication and commitment that it has all paid off and set them up for a bright future.

— Phil Byrne, Director of Key Stage 4 Achievement

It is down to a winning combination of inspirational teaching, hard work and supportive families that students have done so well in their exams. We look forward to welcoming students back to the sixth form and also wish those going elsewhere well for the future.

— Rob Carter, Headteacher

Registration for students joining the Sixth Form is on Tuesday 3rd September. Please contact the school office for further details or to confirm the time of your induction interview.
