On Wednesday 25th September, year 11 students had the opportunity to visit one of two synagogues in Hove.
They visited either the Brighton and Hove Progressive Synagogue or the Brighton and Hove reform synagogue, as part of their Jewish Practices module within GCSE Religious Studies. It was a great opportunity to see the synagogue features up close. Students discussed the key Torah stories on the stained-glass windows, were given a chance to open the Ark, read the Torah scrolls, look at a Seder and even try on a Tallit and Kippah! Students were also given the opportunity to ask questions and hear responses from the Jewish community.
Thank you to the two Jewish synagogues for hosting us!
