On the 12th of June a group of year 8 students and one year 7 went to Brighton to see the colourful, vibrant show Joseph and the Technicolour Dream Coat at the Theatre Royal.

It was a fantastic show, so colourful and energetic, making the students and teachers alike both cry with laughter and cling to the edges of their seats as it gripped us with great tension from the start. The beautiful betrayal of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s story was what I think we would all agree magical and brought a simple story to life so powerfully.

While the story of Joseph is very well known, the performance showed you a new imaginative side to it. With former X Factor winner Joe McElderry playing the lead role of Joseph, songs across all genres including country and pop, gospel and soul, as well as characters from cowboys to Elvis Presley, it was a night to remember. The encore was 5 star and must have lasted another 30 minutes! With the whole audience up on their feet and applauding it is very easy to see why a ticket for this show is one of the hottest around!
